Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP is a powerful technology that works at the unconscious mind level.  NLP is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and was developed by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the 1970’s.

NLP encompasses the three most influential components of our human experience: neurology, language and programming. The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we communicate with other people and our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create (including our behaviour).

NLP is a pragmatic technology and works on a multi-dimensional level involving development of behavioural competence and flexibility, but also involves strategic thinking and an understanding of the mental and cognitive processes behind behaviour.

NLP provides tools and skills for the development of states of individual excellence, and also establishes a system of empowering beliefs.  NLP establishes how communication works most effectively and enables behaviour change in people.

My Performance Coach adopts an NLP approach in coaching as well as most of our training programs.  NLP is an excellent way to develop new skills and behaviours and is particularly useful in soft skills training and change management.
