DISC Profiling Tool

DiSC is one of the leading behavioural profiling tools in the world.  DiSC is a powerful   emotional intelligence tool, enabling high levels of self awareness.  DiSC also creates greater awareness of others behaviour and unlocks the secrets to managing, influencing and servicing different types of people.  DiSC is exceptionally useful in coaching and soft skills training, in particular customer service, sales, leadership, team, management.

DiSC focuses on behaviour.  The premise of DiSC is that people behave as a response to the environment.  Each of the four styles perceives and responds differently to the environment.  DiSC states that every person has some element of each of all four styles however, as humans we tend to rely on one or two styles.  Everyone has a primary style and most people have a secondary style.

DiSC was developed based on the American psychologist named William Moulton Marston, who developed a theory to explain people's emotional responses.  This theory was based on a number of theories including the ancient Greeks and Carl Jung’s observations.

At My Performance Coach we use profiles that use Australian Cultural norms. The DiSC Personal Profile explores behaviour (strengths and limitations) on four primary dimensions:

  • D - Dominance: Direct & Decisive
People with a high D tend to be strong-willed, direct, decisive, love problems and challenges, are action-orientated and driven to getting immediate results.
  • Influence: Inspire & Interacts
People with a high I tend to be "people people" who are optimistic and outgoing, who enjoy participating in teams, sharing ideas, expressing themselves, having fun and influencing others.
  • Steadiness: Sympathetic & Stable
People with a high S tend to be helpful people, true team players who gel the team together and who prefer working behind the scenes.  They work at a steady pace, performing tasks in consistent and predictable ways, and are good listeners.
  • Conscientiousness: Cautious & Correct
People with a high C tend to be more reserved and business-like, preferring facts and logic and are concerned for quality and accuracy.  They like planning ahead and taking systematic approaches to tasks.

The DiSC profiling tool takes approximately 10 minutes to complete online and clients receive a professional detailed profile.
